Janmashtami 2024 auspicious time: Every year the festival of Janmashtami is celebrated on the Ashtami Tithi of Krishna Paksha of Bhadrapada month. On this day people observe fast and worship the child form of Lord Krishna. The child form of Shri Krishna is called Laddu Gopal. Janmashtami is also known as Krishnashtami, Gokulashtami, Ashtani Rohini, Shri Krishna Jayanti, Krishna Janmashtami and Shri Jayanti.

The festival of Janmashtami is celebrated with great pomp in Vrindavan and Mathura. This year the 5251st birth anniversary of Shri Krishna will be celebrated. This time there is a little confusion among people about the date of Janmashtami. So let us know the correct date of Janmashtami, Pujan Muhurta and Pujan Vidhi.

According to astrologers, the festival of Janmashtami will be celebrated on 26th August and the festival of Janmashtami will be celebrated on 27th August in Banke Bihari temple of Vrindavan.

Auspicious time of Janmashtami (Janmashtami 2024 Shubh Muhurat)

Ashtami Tithi will start on 26th August i.e. tomorrow at 3:39 AM and will end on 27th August at 2:19 AM. Lord Krishna was born in Rohini Nakshatra and hence, Krishna Janmashtami is always celebrated in Rohini Nakshatra. Rohini Nakshatra will start on 26th August at 3:55 PM and will end on 17th August at 3:38 PM.

Puja Muhurta- It will happen on 26th August i.e. tomorrow night from 12 am to 12.44 am.

Sri Krishna Janmashtami Worship Method (Janmashtami Pujan Vidhi)

On the day of Janmashtami, wake up in the morning, take a bath and take a vow to fast. After that, adorn Bal Gopal and worship him according to the rituals. Decorate Bal Gopal’s cradle and swing him in it. Anoint him with milk and Gangajal. After this, dress him in new clothes. Put a crown on him and give him a flute. Adorn Laddu Gopal with sandalwood and Vaijayanti garland. Offer him Tulsi leaves, fruits, makhana, butter, sugar candy. Also offer sweets, dry fruits, and panjiri etc. At the end, light incense and perform aarti of the child form of Lord Krishna and distribute prasad to all the people involved in the puja.

Swing for Bal Gopal, idol of Lord Krishna, small flute, a new ornament, crown, basil leaves, sandalwood, akshat, butter, saffron, small cardamom, urn, turmeric, betel leaf, betel nut, Ganga water, throne, perfume, coins, white cloth, red cloth, kumkum, coconut, mauli, clove, perfume, diya, mustard oil or ghee, cotton wick, incense sticks, dhoop batti, fruits and camphor, peacock feather etc.
