Janmashtami 2024 Date: Janmashtami will be celebrated for 2 days in Mathura, the festival will be celebrated on 26th August in Janmabhoomi and on 27th August in Vrindavan

When is Janmashtami 2024: This year, Lord Krishna’s birth anniversary will be celebrated for two days in Braj Mandal. The great festival of Shri Krishna Janmashtami will be celebrated on both 26 and 27 August. It is being said that the festival will be celebrated on Monday, 26 August at the birthplace of Lord Krishna. Whereas, the festival of Janmashtami will be celebrated on Tuesday, 27 August in Vrindavan, which is called the Leelasthali of Shri Krishna. Due to this, preparations have been started in the entire Mathura-Vrindavan.

5251st birth anniversary of Krishna
Kapil Sharma, secretary of Shri Krishna Janma Sthan, said that this is the 5251st birth anniversary of Shri Krishna, so this time something special will definitely happen. This time there is a plan to celebrate the festival of Janmashtami with great grandeur and divinity. Here, like every year, this year too, the Lord will give darshan to the devotees from the morning Mangal Aarti to the night Janma Abhishek. The main event of Shri Krishna Janmashtami will be held at his birthplace in Mathura. Here Janmashtami will be celebrated on 26 August. At midnight, the Panchamrit Abhishek of the Lord will be done in the temple premises of Shri Krishna Janma Sthan.

There will be a special aarti in Banke Bihari temple
At the same time, Shri Krishna Janmashtami festival will be celebrated on 27 August in the world famous Banke Bihari temple. The main Mangala Aarti of Banke Bihari takes place on the day of Janmashtami in the Banke Bihari temple. On August 27, the temple of the Lord will open as usual. After the evening aarti, the Lord will be anointed at night. After this, there will be the Mangala Aarti of Lord Banke Bihari, which happens only once a year. This time the administration has made arrangements for 600 people to have darshan in this aarti.

Mayank Vijay Goswami, the priest of Banke Bihari temple, said that Janmashtami will be celebrated on 27 August in Banke Bihari temple. On this day, Bihari ji will have Shringar Aarti in the morning and Shayan Aarti in the night. After the general darshan, Bihari ji’s Bala Mahabhishek will take place at 12 midnight, which happens once a year. After this Abhishek, darshan opens at 2 am on the Mangala Aarti of Bihari ji in yellow Pitambari dress. After this, offerings are made to the Lord. On this day, special offerings are made to the Lord. In this, mainly Panjiri with balls and Chironji dry fruits is offered to Thakur ji.

Grand tableaus will be taken out on Janmashtami
A procession will also be taken out on the occasion of Shri Krishna Janmashtami. Extensive preparations are being made for this procession to be taken out by the Uttar Pradesh Brij Tirtha Vikas Parishad. This procession will start from the main entrance of Shri Krishna Sthan and will end at Shri Krishna Janmasthan via Potra, Kund Govind Nagar, Mahavidya Colony and reach Deeg Gate Police Chowki. More than two dozen tableaux will also participate in this procession. The district administration and police administration are busy celebrating the birth anniversary of Lord Shri Krishna with great pomp. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is also likely to participate in the Shri Krishna Janmotsav program.

Tight security arrangements made on Janmashtami Mahotsav
CEO of Brij Tirtha Vikas Parishad Shyam Bahadur Singh said that two dozen teams will participate in the procession on Shri Krishna Janmashtami. Each team will have ten to forty artists. A meeting has also been held under the chairmanship of Agra Division Commissioner Ritu Maheshwari to conduct the Shri Krishna Janmashtami festival in a peaceful manner. District Magistrate Shailendra Kumar Singh, SSP Shailesh Kumar Pandey, besides police and administrative officials including Municipal Corporation participated in this meeting.

The commissioner has given strict instructions to the officials to conduct the Sri Krishna Janmashtami festival in a peaceful manner. He said that keeping in mind that the lakhs of devotees coming on Sri Krishna Janmashtami should not face any inconvenience, instructions have been given to complete all the arrangements as soon as possible. Strict security arrangements are being made for Sri Krishna Janmahotsav.

SSP Shailesh Kumar Pandey said that to avoid inconvenience to the devotees, diversion has been done in the traffic system on 25th and 26th August. Devotees will have to park their vehicles at the parking places and travel further by local vehicles like e-rickshaws. For this, 18 parking lots will be built. Vehicles coming from all four directions will be stopped near the birthplace of Lord Krishna in Mathura. At the same time, 32 parking lots will be built in Vrindavan and all the devotees will have to go to the temples from the parking lot by e-rickshaw. Parking points are being built near the temples.
