Jammu and Kashmir, Security forces killed two terrorists on Thursday while foiling an infiltration attempt along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir’s Keran sector. In a major operation, security forces killed two terrorists while foiling an infiltration attempt along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir’s Keran sector, officials said. The Indian Army successfully neutralised two terrorists who were trying to infiltrate across the LoC in Kashmir’s Keran sector, an Army release said. According to the Army release on July 17, a credible input was received from JKP, which was further corroborated by intelligence agencies, regarding possibility of infiltration of a group of foreign terrorists through the Keran sector.
On July 18, at around 12:30 am, alert troops observed the movement of two terrorists among the dense trees on their side of the LoC. The infiltrating terrorists were challenged, following which they opened fire. Two hardcore foreign terrorists were gunned down and weapons, war stores and a Pakistani identity card were recovered from them. This was the third successful anti-infiltration operation along the LoC in the last few weeks.
Earlier, two Indian Army personnel were injured in an encounter with terrorists in the Kastigarh area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Doda district. The encounter comes days after four Army personnel, including an officer, were martyred while fighting terrorists in the Doda encounter on Tuesday.
