Jammu Kashmir Election: National Conference released the first list of 18 candidates, know who got the ticket from where

The National Conference has released its first list of candidates for the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections. The names of 18 candidates have been announced in this list. The names which got final approval by party president Dr. Farooq Abdullah and then nominated as National Conference candidates are as follows-

02. Mohammad Khalil Band – Pulwama

03. Mohi-ud-din Mir – Rajpora

04. Shaukat Hussain Ghani – Zainapora

05. Sheikh Mohammad Rafi – Shopian

06. Sakina Ittu – D.H. Pora

07. Peerzada Feroz Ahmed – Devsar

08. Chaudhry Zafar Ahmed – Larnoo

09. Abdul Majeed Larmi – Anantnag West

10. Dr. Bashir Ahmad Veeri – Bijbehara

11. Reyaz Ahmad Khan – Anantnag East

12. Altaf Ahmed Kaloo – Pahalgam

13. Mehboob Iqbal – Bhaderwah

14. Khalid Najeeb Soharwardy – Doda

15. Arjun Singh Raju – Ramban

16. Sajjad Shaheen – Banihal

17. Sajad Kichloo – Kishtwar

18. Pooja Thokur – Pader-Nagasani

Let us tell you that after a long discussion between the National Conference and the Congress, an agreement was reached on Monday regarding the seat sharing in the state. According to the seat-sharing formula, the National Conference will contest on 51 seats while the Congress will contest on 32 seats. Apart from this, the Marxist Communist Party (CPI-M) and the Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party, which are part of the alliance of the two parties, have been given one seat each.

Elections for the 90 assembly seats of Jammu and Kashmir will be held in three phases on September 18, September 25 and October 1. The results are expected to be announced on October 4. This will be the first assembly election in Jammu and Kashmir after the removal of Article 370 and division into union territories – Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.

Since 2019, Jammu and Kashmir has been governed as a union territory, with major powers vested in the Lieutenant Governor. The current Governor of Jammu and Kashmir is Manoj Kumar Sinha.
