Jammu and Kashmir: BJP President Ravindra Raina will contest from Nowshera seat, party released fourth list

BJP has released its fourth list of candidates for the Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections. The candidates included in the list will contest the elections in the second phase. The party has given ticket to state president Ravindra Raina from Nowshera. This assembly seat comes in Jammu division. With this, the party has announced 51 candidates so far.

In the fourth list, BJP has announced six candidates. The party has nominated Aijaz Hussain from Lal Chowk assembly seat, Arif Raza from Idgah seat, Ali Mohammad Mir from Khansahib, Zahid Hussain from Char-e-Sharif and Vibodh Gupta from Rajouri (ST) seat.

Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections will be held in three phases

The Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections will be held in three phases on September 18, September 25 and October 1, 2024, while the counting of votes will take place on October 8. This election is an important step towards re-establishing the local government structure in the Union Territory.

BJP released four lists of candidates

First List

In the first list, BJP had announced 15 candidates for the assembly elections. This list was amended due to the protest of party workers over the selection of candidates.

second list

BJP added 10 more candidates in the second list, in which candidates were selected according to the equation of different constituencies in preparation for the election.

Third List

The third list was released later and the names of 29 candidates were announced in it. In this list, candidates for the second and third phases of the elections were announced.

Fourth List

In the fourth list, BJP announced six candidates. With this, the party has announced 51 candidates in 90 assembly seats. In this fourth list, the party has fielded the state president from Nowshera. It comes in Rajouri district.

Congress also fielded six more candidates

Congress also announced its 6 candidates for the second phase of Jammu and Kashmir elections on Monday. The party has fielded Bhupendra Jamwal from Mata Vaishno Devi and Iftikar Ahmed from Rajouri.
