Jammu and Kashmir: 47 percent people said unemployment is the biggest issue, Modi is the first choice as PM

Assembly elections have been announced in Jammu and Kashmir. Elections will be held in three phases in Jammu and Kashmir. Voting will be held on 18 and 25 September and 1 October. While the results will be declared on 4 October. Aaj Tak conducted a ‘Mood of the Nation’ survey to gauge the mood of the public before the assembly elections in the Union Territory. According to the ‘Mood of the Nation’ survey, 47 percent of the people of Jammu and Kashmir say that unemployment is the biggest issue.

40% people have chosen Modi as their first choice as PM

Whereas 11% people have considered development, 17% have considered inflation, 4% have considered corruption and 2% each have considered law and development as the biggest issues. In Jammu and Kashmir, PM Narendra Modi is the first choice of 40% people as the Prime Minister.

Rahul Gandhi is the first choice of 38% people as PM. Let us tell you that Aaj Tak’s MOTN survey was conducted between 15 July and 10 August. This survey was conducted among 1,36,463 people.

The last assembly elections were held 10 years ago

This will be the first assembly election in Jammu and Kashmir after 2014. In 2014, votes were cast for 87 assembly seats in the state. Then the People’s Democratic Party emerged as the largest party by winning 28 seats. At the same time, BJP won 25 seats. National Conference won 15 seats and Congress won 12 seats.

In the election results, no party could reach the magic figure of 44 seats required for a majority. After the announcement of the election results, the first and second ranked parties PDP and BJP formed a coalition government under the leadership of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed.

Congress and National Conference will contest the elections together

Former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir and President of JK National Conference Farooq Abdullah has announced an alliance with Congress on Thursday. He said that his party will contest the upcoming assembly elections in alliance with Congress. This is the first assembly election in Jammu and Kashmir after the removal of Article 370 and making it a Union Territory.
