Jamaican dancehall artist Rygin King was arrested in New York City on July 10, 2024 as part of the city’s “One Less Gun” campaign. King, whose real name is Montague Fagan, faces four charges including second, third, and fourth-degree possession of a firearm, ammunition, and criminal possession of a weapon.
According to an NYPD spokesperson, King was arrested in Queens, New York and charged with criminal possession of a weapon and unlawful possession of a magazine or clip. The arrest was part of a broader crackdown by New York City authorities to get illegal guns off the streets.
