Jagannatha Temple: Ratna Bhandar of Puri Jagannath Temple of Odisha opened. The auspicious time for opening the Ratna Bhandar was 1:28 am. At the same time, the Ratna Bhandar was opened outside. 11 teams entered the temple under the leadership of Justice Vishwanath Rath, Chairman of Ratna Bhandar Committee. 6 chests have been made to keep the gems, which have been taken inside the Jagannath temple. The length of a chest is 4 feet, width is 2 feet while the height is 2 feet. A total of 15 chests were ordered. All these chests have been prepared in Bhubaneswar Nayapalli. The construction work of 9 chests is going on. All the chests have been prepared from teak wood for gem protection.
A list of valuables will be prepared after shifting to the strong room
According to the information, the Ratna Bhandar of Sri Jagannath Temple was opened today as per the standard operating procedure issued by the state government. Sri Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) chief Arabinda Padhi said that the Odisha government had approved the SOP for opening the Ratna Bhandar. As per the decision, today the Ratna Bhandar is being opened as per the prescribed guidelines. Authorised representatives of various service groups, officials of ASI, representatives of Sri Gajapati Maharaj and others are present there. The entire proceedings are being video recorded for our record. The SOP has three phases – the first is to open the outer Ratna Bhandar. There is another set of guidelines for the inner Ratna Bhandar. The Ratna Bhandar has also built a temporary strong room… After shifting from the Ratna Bhandar to the strong room, we will make a list of the valuables… We want blessings from Mahaprabhu that the Ratna Bhandar opens smoothly, and the subsequent steps will be followed.
Puri SP Pinak Mishra said that we have made relevant security arrangements keeping in mind all aspects. QRT has been deployed at all important places. Apart from this, we have made a contingency arrangement and all plans are ready. Daily rituals in the temple will be conducted as usual. Only identified servants will be allowed inside the temple, who have duty today.
