‘It is necessary to cover the face and the whole body’, Taliban’s new order for women in Afghanistan

The Taliban ruler of Afghanistan has issued a new decree for women. According to the new rule, women are now prohibited from covering their entire body including their faces in public places and from singing or reading loudly in public.

Ministry spokesman Mullah Abdul Ghafar Farooq said about the new laws on Thursday, “InshaAllah we assure you that this Islamic law will be very helpful in promoting virtues and eliminating evils.”

It is also important to cover your face

A government spokesman said the laws were issued on Wednesday after being approved by supreme leader Hibatullah Akhundzada. Article 13 of the new law, which deals with women, states that a woman must cover her body at all times in public and must also cover her face to avoid tempting and enticing others.

The order clearly instructs that a woman’s clothes should not be thin, tight or short. Women have also been advised to cover themselves in front of non-Muslim men and women.

The law states that a woman’s voice is considered intimate. Therefore, women are also prohibited from singing or reading aloud in public. Women are also prohibited from looking at men with whom they have no blood relation or marriage.
