Interest Free Loan: Loan of Rs 50 lakhs… interest zero, big announcement by this state government on 15th August!

The country is celebrating the 78th Independence Day. Meanwhile, the Mizoram Government has made a big announcement on the occasion of Independence Day. Chief Minister Lalduhoma said on Thursday that the state government will launch a scheme to provide interest-free loans up to Rs 50 lakh to eligible people in view of financial growth and improvement in living standards.

Addressing the people present there on the occasion of 78th Independence Day, Chief Minister (Mizoram CM) Lalduhoma said that our government is firm on its goal of inclusive governance, growth of the state, maximum accountability and transparency in government processes as well as better delivery of common services. After coming to power in December 2023 last year, the Zoram People’s Movement (ZPM) government has taken steps forward on many changes.

Mizoram government will give financial help
According to PTI, Chief Minister Lalduhoma said in his address that the government is making large-scale efforts for the development of the state and in this sequence, taking a big step, it is going to start a loan scheme. Through this scheme, the government will work as a guarantor to help eligible people who take steps forward for economic development. The CM said that there is a proposal to amend the Mizoram Government Guarantee Act, 2011, so that the eligible people can get a loan of up to Rs 50 lakh and in this the government will give guarantee as well as pay the interest.

While addressing the Independence Day celebrations, the Chief Minister made several other big announcements along with giving information about the launch of the interest-free loan scheme. Under this, he said that the government will soon start the Universal Health Care Scheme. He said that the new and comprehensive health service scheme will include the general public as well as government employees and pensioners.

Efforts to bring foreign investment in the state
Referring to the steps taken for the growth of the state, Lalduhoma said that his government has launched the Mizoram Investment Policy 2024 in February to attract investors from within and outside the state. The Chief Minister said that his government is committed to promoting the purchase of agricultural or horticultural products, food processing, agriculture and skill development as well as creating new employment opportunities for the youth.
