Indian-origin Kevan Parekh will be Apple’s new CFO, Tim Cook calls him the perfect choice

Apple has announced the launch date of its upcoming smartphone series iPhone 16. Along with this, the company has also informed that its CFO Luca Maestri has resigned from his post. Indian-origin Kevan Parekh will replace Luca as the new CFO.

Parekh has been associated with Apple for 11 years and is currently serving as the company’s Vice President of Financial Planning and Analysis. He will take over as CFO (Chief Financial Officer) from January 1, 2025 and will be a part of the executive team.

Where did you study from?

Parekh has been working at Apple for the last 11 years. He has played an important role in the company’s financial strategy and operations. Kevan comes with a technical and business education background. He has a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Michigan.

After this, he did his MBA from the University of Chicago, which is one of the world’s renowned universities. 52-year-old Kevan Parekh joined Apple 11 years ago and soon made himself an important part of the company’s finance leadership team.

Reports directly to Tim Cook

Kevan leads several key departments of Apple. According to reports, he reports directly to CEO Tim Cook. Earlier, Parekh used to lead the finance team for worldwide sales, retail and marketing at Apple. According to reports, Kevan Parekh was being prepared for the post of CFO by his senior Luca Maestri for the last several months.

Parekh has also worked at Reuters for four years. He has played the role of Vice President of Finance at Reuters. Apart from this, he has held the position of Director of Business Development at General Motors. Apple CEO Tim Cook has also expressed his confidence in Parekh.

He wrote, ‘Keven has been an important part of Apple’s finance team for more than a decade. He understands the nuances of the company. His intelligence, wise decisions and grasp on finance make him perfect for the position of CFO.’
