Indian Hockey Team, Paris Olympics 2024: The Indian hockey team continues to play well in the Paris Olympics 2024. Under the captaincy of Harmanpreet Singh, the Indian team has entered the semi-finals. The team’s quarter-final match was played against Great Britain on Sunday (August 4), which was very exciting. The Indian team won the match 4-2 in the shootout.
In this match, Amit Rohidas was sent off in the 17th minute due to a red card. After this, the Indian team played with only 10 players for 43 minutes. Giving red card to Amit was also a controversial point of the match. Which some people on social media are calling dishonesty.
After this, the match was drawn 1-1 in the stipulated time of 60 minutes. After which a shootout was resorted to. In the shootout, PR Sreejesh made two excellent saves to give India the win. India’s semi-final match will now be against the winner of the second semi-final between Netherlands and Germany.

Amit got a red card in the second quarter

In such a situation, the German video umpire believed that Amit did this intentionally. In such a situation, the field umpire showed Amit a red card on the advice of the video umpire. The Indian players believed that this was not done intentionally. It would have been more appropriate if the video umpire had given a yellow card.
The Indian hockey team made a strong comeback despite the red card. Captain Harmanpreet Singh scored a goal in the 22nd minute of the game to put India 1-0 ahead against Great Britain. However, Great Britain soon equalized when Lee Morton scored a goal in the 27th minute. After this, no goals were scored in the remaining two quarters and the match went into a shootout. Sreejesh made many saves in this match.
