Sig Sauer company CEO Ron Cohen said that the world’s second largest army has ordered us to send this gun again. This is a matter of pride for us. After this delivery, the Indian Army will have more than 1.45 lakh Sig Sauer 716 assault rifles.
These rifles are being given to the soldiers posted at forward posts on the China and Pakistan border. Due to the special features of this gun, it was included to fight terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir.

With the inclusion of this rifle, the INSAS rifles will be replaced as they use 5.56x45mm bullets. This gun uses 7.62x51mm bullets. These are more powerful bullets.
Sig-716 is made in America and Switzerland. It is an automatic assault rifle. Its range is long. Accuracy is 100 percent. Sniper attack can also be done with its help. The total length of the rifle is 34.39 inches. The length of its barrel is 15.98 inches. Its total weight is 3.58 kg.

This is a rifle with a gas operated rotating bolt system. It uses 7.62x51mm NATO grade bullets. Its magazine contains 20 bullets. Adjustable front and rear optics can be installed on it. So that it can kill the enemy sitting far away. Its range is 600 meters i.e. about 1970 feet.

Sig-716 rifle can fire 685 rounds per minute. There are four variants of it available in the world. Like- Sig 716 CQB… This rifle is made for close combat. Its size is small. Sig-716 Carbine This is a format of carbine. Sig-716 Patrol Rifle means original length rifle.
Sig-716 Precision Marksman… This variant is heavy. Its barrel length is 20 inches. That is, it is best for a sniper. It comes in semi-automatic format.
