India first gold in Paris Paralympics 2024: Avani Lekhara created 2 historical records in Paris Paralympics, PM Modi congratulated in this style, also praised Mona Aggarwal

PM Modi’s tweet on Avni Lekhara and Mona Agarwal: On the second day of the Paris Paralympics (30 August), Indian shooter Avani Lekhara won the gold medal in the women’s 10 meter air rifle (SH1) event. Mona Agarwal of India won the bronze medal in the same event. PM Narendra Modi congratulated India for winning two medals in the Paris Paralympics.

Avani Lekhara has become the first Indian woman to win two gold medals in the Paralympics. Apart from this, she has become the first Indian woman to win 3 medals in the Paralympics, this is also a unique record.

PM Modi wrote on the post – Congratulations to Avani Lekhara for winning the prestigious gold in the R2 Women’s 10M Air Rifle SH1 event. She also created history, she is the first Indian female athlete to win 3 Paralympic medals. Her dedication makes India proud.

While congratulating Mona Agarwal, PM Modi wrote – Congratulations to Mona Agarwal for winning the bronze medal in the R2 Women’s 10m Air Rifle SH1 event at the Paris Paralympics 2024. Her remarkable achievement reflects her dedication and pursuit of excellence. India is proud of Mona.

The SH1 category in shooting includes shooters who have impaired movement of the arms, lower torso, legs, or have a disorder of their hands or feet.

Avni made these Paralympic records
The special thing was that 22-year-old Avani Lakhera created a record in the Paralympics by scoring 249.7 points. Earlier, Avani had won the gold medal in the women’s 10m air rifle standing SH1 event at the Tokyo Paralympics. She was awarded the Khel Ratna Award in the year 2021 for her outstanding performance and contribution in sports. Which is India’s highest sports honor.

Avni had an accident at the age of 11
She suffered from complete paraplegia after a car accident in 2012 at the age of 11. Paraplegia is a spinal cord injury that paralyzes the lower limbs. It is the result of severe damage to the spinal cord and nervous system.
