India D vs India C Duleep Trophy Highlights: Ruturaj Gaikwad’s India B overpowered Shreyas Iyer’s team, Manav Suthar made a splash with the ball and bat

India-C has started with a win in the Duleep Trophy 2024. This team, captained by Rituraj Gaikwad, defeated India-D by four wickets. Shreyas Iyer was captaining India-D in this match. In the match, India-C got a target of 233 runs to win, which it achieved on the third day of the game (7 September).

In this match played in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh, India-D lost the toss and elected to bat first. The team’s batsmen did not perform well and despite Akshar Patel’s brilliant 86 runs, they scored only 164 runs in the first innings. India-C’s bowling was excellent, but its batsmen could not do much in the first innings either. Thanks to useful innings of Baba Indrajit (72) and Abhishek Porel (34), India-C scored 168 runs and gained a lead of just 4 runs.

In the second innings, India-D played better than the first innings and scored 236 runs. Captain Shreyas Iyer played a quick innings of 55 runs in 44 balls. At the same time, Devdutt Padikkal contributed 56 and Ricky Bhui contributed 44 runs. Since India-C got a lead of 4 runs on the basis of the first innings, it got a target of 233 runs to win. In response, IND-C achieved the target by losing 6 wickets thanks to the brilliant innings of Rituraj Gaikwad (46), Aryan Juyal (47) and Rajat Patidar (44). India-C bowler Manav Suthar was adjudged ‘Player of the Match’ for taking 8 wickets in the entire match.

India-D batsmen did not look in their rhythm throughout the match. In the first innings, except Axar Patel, other batsmen could not stay on the pitch. Batsmen like captain Shreyas Iyer (9), Padikkal (0) failed to play big innings. In the second innings, apart from Shreyas Iyer (54) and Padikkal (56), no other batsman could stand against Manav Suthar (7 wickets for 49 runs).

Manav Suthar also made a useful contribution with the bat

Manav Suthar changed the course of the match by taking 1 wicket in the first innings and 7 wickets in the second innings. He also made a significant contribution of 19 runs with the bat, which helped the team win. India-C was under pressure after losing six wickets for 191 runs, but Abhishek Porel and Suthar made an unbroken partnership of 42 runs for the seventh wicket and led the team to victory. Porel, who scored 34 runs in the first innings, played an important role in the team’s victory by scoring an unbeaten 35 runs in the second innings. Right-arm off-spinner Saransh Jain took four wickets for India-D.
