India vs Bangladesh Women’s Asia Cup 2024 Semi-Final Highlights: The Indian team has made it to the final of the Women’s Asia Cup 2024 with a brilliant performance. In the first semi-final match played at the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium on Friday (July 26), India defeated Bangladesh by 10 wickets.

In this match, India got a target of just 81 runs to win, which it achieved in just 11 overs. In the final, the Indian team will face the winner of the second semi-final match between Sri Lanka and Pakistan. The final of the tournament will be played on 28 July.

Smriti hit a stormy fifty

For India, opener Smriti Mandhana scored an unbeaten 55 runs off 39 balls, which included 9 fours and a six. While Shefali Verma remained unbeaten on 26 runs. Shefali hit 2 fours in her 28-ball innings. Both of them batted brilliantly and did not give Bangladesh any chance to come back in the match.

Radha-Renuka’s deadly bowling

Earlier, Bangladesh team, who won the toss and elected to bat first, could score only 80 runs for 8 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Captain Nigar Sultana scored the highest 32 runs for Bangladesh. Apart from this, only Shorna Akhtar (19 not out) could reach double digits. For India, fast bowler Renuka Singh and spinner Radha Yadav took three wickets each. While Pooja Vastrakar and Deepti Sharma got one wicket each.

This tournament is very important in view of the Women’s T20 World Cup to be held on Bangladeshi soil in the month of September-October.
