Meanwhile, good news has come about the prevention of Mpox. According to media reports, people who have had smallpox or chickenpox or have been vaccinated for it, have almost no risk of getting this disease.

Let us tell you that after some African countries and Sweden, this virus has now reached Pakistan. One case of this virus has been reported in Pakistan. So far this virus has affected about 116 countries. This year, about 14 thousand cases of this virus were registered in Africa and about 524 deaths have occurred due to this.

What is Mpox virus?

Mpox is a viral disease caused by the monkeypox virus, a species of the Orthopoxvirus genus. Mpox was formerly known as monkeypox. This virus was first identified in 1958. At that time, the outbreak of this disease in monkeys had increased a lot. Mpox virus is related to diseases like smallpox, cowpox, vaccinia. This virus belongs to the same orthopox virus family as all other pox viruses. Mpox virus is an infection spreading in monkeys, that is why it is being called monkeypox virus. This virus also spreads to humans by coming in contact with an infected animal.

Symptoms of the Monkeypox Virus

Symptoms of the monkeypox virus can include fever, headache, muscle pain, fatigue, and skin rashes or pimples. The virus usually spreads from person to person through contact, such as physical contact with an infected person, or contact with items used by an infected person. Symptoms of the virus last for 2 to 4 weeks. Children, pregnant women, and people with weakened immune systems are at higher risk of this infection.

Although no case of this virus has been reported in India so far, it is important that people take care of themselves and focus on strengthening their immunity. At the same time, children and pregnant women need to take special care of themselves at this time.
