‘I took up arms because of debt, please grant me bail…’, petition in court by the shooter who fired at Salman’s house

One of the shooters who opened fire at Bollywood superstar Salman Khan’s house in April this year claimed to be inspired by the principles of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and on Monday sought bail from the court in this case. He told the court that his poor financial condition and debt had inspired him to commit the crime.

Now he is giving clarification saying that Lawrence Bishnoi’s name has been wrongly taken in this case and he has no role in the firing as alleged by Mumbai Police. He said that the purpose of the firing was to scare Salman Khan.

Three accused including gangster Lawrence
This is because Salman Khan had killed two blackbucks 26 years ago. Let us also tell you that in the police chargesheet filed in a Mumbai court last month, Lawrence Bishnoi, his brother Anmol Bishnoi and key gang member Rohit were shown as ‘wanted accused’ in the case.

bail plea before special court
Now on Monday, Vicky Kumar Gupta has filed a bail plea before a special court constituted under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA Act) through his lawyers Amit Mishra, Sunil Mishra and Pankaj Ghildiyal. Special Judge BD Shelke sought a reply from the prosecution and adjourned the hearing of the case to August 13.

The bail plea of ​​the accused said that the applicant Vicky Kumar Gupta was indeed influenced by the electronic, print, social media character of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and was magnetically attached to the principles of the jailed gangster, who is said to be a staunch follower of revolutionary Bhagat Singh.

The accused made the excuse of debt
The accused shooter Vicky Kumar Gupta further said that he comes from a poor background and lives in a remote village in Bihar and is under debt, due to which the applicant committed the crime. According to the petition, the purpose of the firing was only to intimidate Khan in connection with the killing of two blackbucks worshipped by the Bishnoi community in Rajasthan in 1998, as the actor had not apologised for his act.

The shooter defended Lawrence Bishnoi
A Rajasthan court had convicted Khan in the blackbuck poaching case, but he was later acquitted by the High Court. Vicky Kumar Gupta told the special court in Mumbai that Lawrence Bishnoi had no role in the shootout. The accused claimed that he did not receive any call from Lawrence Bishnoi or any middleman instigated him to talk to the gangster.

The bail plea said that Lawrence Bishnoi is being implicated by the prosecution for reasons known only to him. Seeking bail after being in jail for over three months, Vicky Kumar Gupta argued that he is not a threat to public safety.
