I know Donald Trump’s type… Kamala Harris hits back at racist comment

As the US presidential election is getting closer, the war of words between the leaders is getting more intense. Donald Trump had made a racist comment on Kamala Harris regarding her colour. But now Harris has replied to him in Trump’s style.

Kamala Harris, the presidential candidate from the Democratic Party, said that as you all know, before becoming the Vice President, I have been a Senator. Before being elected as a Senator, I have been the Attorney General and even before that, I have been a District Attorney. And before that, I have also served as a courtroom prosecutor.

Harris said that in all these roles I have encountered all kinds of criminals. Criminals who exploited women. Fraudsters who cheat people. Such people break the rules for their own benefit. That is why when I say that I know Donald Trump’s type. So I know his type and I have been dealing with people like him.

Throughout my career, I’ve encountered all types of criminals, and let me tell you: I know Donald Trump’s type. pic.twitter.com/EP9e8ClVKE

What did Trump say?

Trump had questioned Kamala Harris’s racial identity and said that she is deliberately trying to capitalize on her black identity. While addressing the National Association of Black Journalists Convention in Chicago, Trump had said that she (Kamala Harris) always described herself as belonging to India. She used to promote Indian heritage. But now she has suddenly become black. Since when did she become black? Now she wants to be recognized as black.

Trump had said that I don’t know whether she is an Indian or a black person. I respect both Indians and black people but I don’t think Harris has any respect for them. Because she was always an Indian and used to call herself connected to India but now she has suddenly become a black person.

Why were questions raised on Kamala Harris’s racial identity?

In fact, in the US elections, apart from whites, there is a significant vote bank of blacks, people of South Asian origin and Hispanic people. Ever since Kamala Harris has taken over the presidential candidacy on behalf of the Democratic Party after Biden withdrew from the presidential election, she is constantly getting the support of blacks and people of South Asian origin.

In a recent survey, an increase in Kamala Harris’s approval rating was also recorded. After President Joe Biden withdrew from the candidature, Kamala Harris’s approval rating has increased by 8 percent compared to last week.

Kamala Harris’s approval rating in the Ipsos poll is now 43 percent. Whereas, her dis-approval rating is 42 percent. That is, 43 percent of Americans want Kamala Harris to become the President. Till last week, Kamala Harris’s approval rating was 35 percent and dis-approval rating was 46 percent.

On the other hand, Republican candidate Donald Trump’s approval rating has declined. Trump’s approval rating is now 36 percent and dis-approval rating is 53 percent. Whereas, last week his approval rating was 40 percent and dis-approval rating was 51 percent.
