Human Trafficking: 16 minor girls were being taken to Bihar in the name of online marketing training, this is how RPF rescued them

Sixteen minor girls were rescued by the Anti Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) of Railway Protection Force (RPF) from the railway station in Gonda, Uttar Pradesh on Monday. All of them were being taken to Bihar on the pretext of training in an online marketing company. However, the two accused who were taking them fled from the spot. The police have started searching for them.

Giving information about the whole case, Deputy Inspector of Railway Protection Force (RPF) and in-charge of Anti Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU), Surendra Kumar said that during patrolling at the railway station, a man and a woman were seen with 16 girls aged between 14 and 17 years.

According to sub-inspector Surendra Kumar, after this the team stopped them and questioned them. On being questioned, both the man and the woman could not give any satisfactory answer and later suddenly fled from the spot. He told that after this the RPF handed over the children to Childline.

Childline coordinator Ashish Mishra further said in this case that a woman from Deoria was taking them to Bihar on the pretext of training them in an online marketing company. He told that all the girls were from rural areas of the district and their parents had agreed to take their children for training, after which they thought they could get a job.

Ashish Mishra further said that Rs 1300 each was also given to the parents of those children for training. He said that the consent letter given by the parents is not valid because they are minors and making them work is illegal.

According to Ashish Mishra, all those girls will be presented before the Juvenile Justice Board and after that they will be handed over to their parents. However, the police is investigating further in this matter.
