A tragic incident took place on the evening of 27th July at RAU’S IAS Coaching Centre located in Old Rajendra Nagar, Delhi, in which two girl students and one boy student lost their lives. Rain water was collected on the road outside, which filled the library in the basement of the coaching centre. Out of the 30 students present in the library at the time of the incident, 27 managed to get out, while three got stuck. Many videos are viral on the internet, by watching which one can understand how this incident happened due to water filling in the basement.

It can be seen in the viral video that after the rain, there is a large amount of waterlogging outside the RAU’S IAS coaching center. It looks like a flood. The entry gate of the coaching center is visible in the video. This iron gate was used to prevent the water accumulated on the road from entering the basement. As per the rules, the basement library should have been closed immediately after the rain and the students should have been evacuated, but this was not done.

In another viral video, an SUV is seen passing outside a coaching centre. Due to the passing of the SUV, the water accumulated on the road swelled and a wave was formed, which put a lot of pressure on the gate of the coaching centre. This broke the gate and the water accumulated outside started entering the coaching centre rapidly. It can also be seen and heard in the video that when the water accumulated on the road swells due to the passing of the SUV, people are making noise.
