What role do these two scores play in admission?
Only your normalized score is used for admission. Normalized score is the score given to a student based on his/her performance in the subject. Whereas, percentile score is used to give the position of a student among other students of that group.

Are scores used based on subjects?
If we talk about DU admission process, every program has different eligibility. For example, if a student has applied for BSc, then he has chosen PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Math) or PCB (Physics, Chemistry Biology) as domain subjects for science courses. Now their score is counted in admission.

How can we understand this with an example?
Suppose a candidate wants to take admission in BSc Honours, then his score in Physics, Chemistry, Math or Biology will count. Even if you have the required 30 percent score in a language course, it is not considered in making the merit. But in Computer Science Honours, only the best four subjects are taken.

Why does a candidate give 8-10 exams in CUET?
See, in DU admission, only the scores of the subjects that the child has studied in 12th are counted. It is clear in DU entrance exam that give only that exam, we will consider only that.

To change the stream, do I have to give exams for different subjects?
If a candidate has studied science in 12th. Now he wants to go to humanities, then he does not need to change the subject in CUET. That means he has to give the exam of only those subjects which he has studied in 12th. Bulletin Info regarding this was launched in February itself.

If I change my subjects to change my stream, will I not get admission?
If a candidate has studied science in class 12th and chooses humanities subject in CUET then those subjects will not be valid in the admission process of Delhi University.

How will the candidate know where he can get admission in the desired subject?
For this, mapping has to be done in DU’s admission portal. On logging in here, CUET subjects appear automatically. The candidate should fill in the subject that he has taken in 12th. History will be mapped to History. Geography will be mapped to Geography.

If I am unable to appear for CUET then I cannot get admission in DU?
No, it is not like that. Admissions in DU’s SOL i.e. School of Open Learning and NCWEB for girl students will still be based on 12th marks. Yes, they cannot get admission in regular courses.

How do students fill in their course and college preferences?
Students often think that if I give preference to History, then I will get all the History options. But candidates can give 1800 preferences in DU colleges and programs. Candidates should fill at least 100 preferences. The more you fill, the greater will be your chances.

If the marks in 12th are low and the normalized score of CUET is good, can I get admission in the desired college?
Ofcourse, if the normalized score is good then it is possible, if your normalized score is good and it matches the eligibility of the college then you can easily get admission.
