How can we go to Kargil, how far do we have permission to go on LOC? We cannot do this work

How can I go to Kargil?

If you want to go to Kargil, you can go to Kargil with your family. No special permission is required to go to Kargil and you can visit the Kargil area. If you want to see Kargil, you can go from Srinagar or Manali. The nearest airport from here is Leh, which is about 200 kilometers away. After this you have to go further by road.

If you go to Kargil from Srinagar, then you reach Kargil from Srinagar by crossing Sonamarg, Zojili Pass and Drass. On the other hand, to go from Manali, you can go to Kargil via Leh or Shinkula Pass. It takes about 7-9 hours to go from Leh to Kargil, which you have to cover by bike only. You do not need any special permission to go here.

What can we see here?

Kargil is one of the two districts of Ladakh where you can see many things. In Kargil, you can see Mulbekh Monastery, Phukhtal Monastery, Drass Valley, Zanskar Valley along with War Memorial. The roads to go here are closed in winters and this place is cut off from the world due to snow.

How far can we go on LOC?

You can see the LOC or Line of Control from many places in Kargil. The LOC area is about 11 km away from Kargil. There is no permission to go near the LOC in Kargil and Dras, but Pakistan can be seen from high hills in some villages with the help of binoculars etc. Pakistan checkposts and Pakistani villages can also be seen from there. Tourists visiting Kargil are excited to see the Pakistani villages. However, tourists are not allowed to visit the War Memorial in Kargil. However, from here you can see Tiger Hill, Batra Point etc., where the Kargil war was fought.

What can not be done in Kargil

Kargil is a high-security and sensitive area where many activities are prohibited. Being a border area, flying drones etc. is prohibited here, for this you have to take permission first. Also, there are many sensitive places where photography is prohibited. Apart from this, if you are drinking alcohol, then you cannot do so in a public place and you can consume alcohol only by keeping in mind the local rules there.
