Heavy rains wreaked havoc in Una on Sunday. Heavy rains for 10 hours continuously killed 12 people in Una district. Out of the 12 people, 9 are from the same family. 3 people were crushed under the sheds and walls of factories in the industrial area due to the rain.
Many industrial units were destroyed due to heavy rains in Tahliwal Industrial Area of Una. Water filled everywhere inside the factories. Somewhere the roof was destroyed, while many walls collapsed. Many vehicles were destroyed due to rain. Many people were swept away in the strong current of rain water. Of these, three people died and one is missing.

9 people of the same family of Dehlan village of Una died. Actually, 11 people from here had gone to attend a wedding in Hoshiarpur, Punjab. But their Innova car got stuck in the strong current of a ravine in Jejo on the Himachal-Punjab border. After this, all the people were swept away in the strong current.
After receiving information about 11 people being swept away in the water, the Punjab administration started rescue efforts. Still, people could not be saved. After the strong current stopped, during the rescue operation, bodies of 9 out of 11 people were recovered, while one is still missing. One was rescued with the help of local people.
The pit adjacent to Tahliwal Industrial Area is filled with water. A petrol pump also fell prey to the flood of rainwater. The strong current of water swept away everything. Factories and houses were destroyed. Three migrant labourers died in this. The loss due to rain is estimated to be in crores.
