Himachal: Flood due to cloudburst in Lahaul Spiti, woman swept away in flood, 53 people missing

Due to cloudburst in Himachal, rivers have suddenly flooded. Many people have died and many have gone missing due to cloudburst in Shimla, Mandi and Kullu. After the cloudburst, many roads are closed due to landslides, due to which the rescue team is facing challenges in reaching the spot.

A woman was swept away in flash floods near Sangam drain in Kaza area of ​​Lahaul and Spiti district of Himachal Pradesh on Friday, officials said.

He said that later the rescue team recovered his body. He has been identified as Yeshe Zangmo. Officials said that a vehicle got buried under the debris after the sudden flood.

According to the State Emergency Operations Centre, 77 people have died in rain-related incidents in the state since the onset of monsoon on June 27.

Eight school children missing

On Friday, information came to light about the disappearance of eight school children from Samej village of Rampur in Shimla. The missing children include seven girls and one boy. It is being told that among all the missing school students, two are from 12th class, 4 are matric students and one each from 6th and 9th class. All the missing students are badminton and volleyball players. School principal Arvind said that among the missing students, 4 are from 12th class, 4 are matric students and one each from 6th and 9th class. All these students were local residents. All of them were badminton and volleyball players.

Apart from this, the rescue team is engaged in rescue work in Rampur, where 6 people were killed in a cloudburst incident on August 1 and 53 people are still missing.
