In Badaun, Uttar Pradesh, a couple riding a bike died due to electric shock after coming in contact with a high tension wire. On receiving the information, the police reached the spot, took the bodies in their custody and sent them for postmortem. Police said that Dev Pal Singh (52) and his wife Meena Devi (52), residents of Dudhari village of Dataganj Kotwali area, were returning home on a bike, when the high tension wire fell on them.
Sub-district magistrate Sukhlal Verma said that on Friday, a husband and wife were burnt to death after coming in contact with a high tension wire. The superintending engineer of the electricity department has been informed about this. Due to extreme heat and overloading, the dilapidated high tension line broke. The husband and wife riding a bike came in contact with it and both died after being burnt alive.

Passersby made videos of the couple burning
Sukhlal Verma further said that during this time passersby made videos of the burning couple, but no one tried to save them. The fire was brought under control after the police arrived. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem. At the same time, the couple’s family has been assured of government assistance.
Mother and son died due to electric shock
Let us tell you that two days ago, a woman and her son died due to electric shock in Dataganj area of Badayun. The accident happened when a high tension electric wire fell on the iron fence around their house. First the woman got hit by it, then the son who went to save her also got hit by the current.
Sub-divisional Magistrate (SDM) Dharmendra Kumar Singh said Rajendra Devi (58) accidentally touched the fence late Tuesday night. When her son Umesh (37) came out to rescue her, he too got electrocuted along with his mother. Both of them died.
