Heroin worth Rs 1 crore seized in Bahraich, drugs were being smuggled from Nepal

In Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh, the police and the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) conducted a joint operation against drug smugglers. In this, the police caught two drug smugglers on the spot. Heroin worth about Rs 1 crore was also recovered from their possession. The case is from Rupaidiha area adjacent to Nepal.

Here on Monday, the police and the joint border force conducted a search operation against drug smugglers in Nepalganj Road Railway Station and surrounding areas. During this, two drug smugglers were arrested near Nepalganj Road Railway Station in Rupaidiha police station area. Both were smuggling drugs for a long time.

Heroin seized from area adjacent to Nepal
SSB Deputy Commandant Dilip Kumar said that both the smugglers were going towards the railway track near Nepalganj Road Railway Station in Rupaidiha police station area. Then the joint patrolling party stopped them and searched them. During the search, about 140 grams of heroin was recovered from their possession. Its price in the international market is Rs 1 crore.

Both smugglers are of Indian origin
He said that both the smugglers have been identified as Ziaul Haq and Siraj of Indian origin. Both have been arrested by the police and further action is being taken by registering a case against the accused under the relevant sections of the Narcotics Act at Rupaidiha police station.
