Heavy rain warning in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat and Maharashtra, IMD issued alert

The Meteorological Department has warned of heavy rains in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat and Maharashtra. The department says that a pressure area in northwest Madhya Pradesh and adjoining eastern Rajasthan has intensified into a deep depression. Due to this, there is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rains in these states and parts of Gujarat and Goa in the next two to three days.

According to the IMD, on August 25 at 11:30 pm (night), this deep pressure area was centered about 70 km south-southeast of Chittorgarh, Rajasthan. Due to this, the weather of Rajasthan and Gujarat will be affected and by August 29, it will reach Saurashtra, Kutch and parts of Pakistan.

Meteorological department issued red alert

The Meteorological Department said that another low pressure area has formed in Bangladesh and the adjoining Gangetic West Bengal region. It is also likely to deepen and move towards Gangetic West Bengal, North Odisha and Jharkhand in the next two days.

Issuing a red alert, the IMD said that heavy to very heavy rains are expected in West Madhya Pradesh on August 26. Similar weather will prevail in eastern and southern Rajasthan, Gujarat, Saurashtra and Kutch from August 26 to 29. Heavy to very heavy rains are also expected in Konkan, Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Odisha, Gangetic West Bengal and Jharkhand in the next two days.

The weather may remain bad till August 30

The IMD warned that on August 26, winds in Madhya Pradesh can reach speeds of up to 50 kmph and on August 26-27, winds in South Rajasthan can reach speeds of up to 60 kmph.

Winds may blow at a speed of 55 kmph in Gujarat, areas near Pakistan, North Maharashtra and Northeast Arabian Sea on August 26, which may increase to 60 kmph on August 27 and 28. According to IMD, the weather may remain bad in the coastal areas of Gujarat, Pakistan, and North Maharashtra till August 30. Sea conditions are also expected to remain bad in the North Bay of Bengal on August 26.
