There was a clash between students and police

On 4 August, a protest march was started by students and other organizations in Dhanmondi and Shahbaz areas. Dhaka police tried to stop the protest, after which there was a violent clash between the protesters and the police. During this, the police retaliated. The police was accused of firing on the students. After Sheikh Hasina’s resignation, there was an atmosphere of fear among the policemen that now people will retaliate and the policemen can be attacked, so the entire police force disappeared.

Life in Dhaka is returning to normal and the police force is returning to work. Traffic conditions in Dhaka on Tuesday appeared normal as the traffic police resumed work. A traffic sub-inspector said that there was a sense of fear among the policemen after August 5 but now the government and people have given assurances and we hope that the situation will not be the same again as we have seen before.

Several students were killed in alleged police firing during the movement and there is growing demand for prosecution of police officials responsible for crackdown on protests.
