HC imposed ban on using the content of ‘Tarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chashmah, know what is the matter

‘Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ is a popular television show. This show has been entertaining the audience for the last 16 years. Now the Delhi High Court has issued a big order regarding ‘Tarak Mehta’. The makers of the show, Neela Film Productions Private Limited said that the title, characters, faces, mannerisms, dialogues and other things of the show are now protected under the law.

A few months ago, the makers of the show had alleged that many websites were misusing the characters, names and images of ‘Tarak Mehta. Many social media accounts, websites and YouTube channels have been identified, which are illegally using the characters of the show. Animations, deepfakes, AI-generated photos and pornographic content related to the characters are being spread.

Recognizing the seriousness of the matter, Justice Mini Pushkarna ruled in favor of the makers. The decision gives 48 hours to remove all objectionable videos from YouTube. If the obscene content is not removed within 48 hours, then that link will be blocked from the social media platform. Strict action can also be taken for this.

‘Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ producer Asit Modi has expressed happiness over the court’s decision. He said- We are grateful to the Delhi High Court for recognizing the importance of protecting our property. The court’s order gives a strong message. As a producer, I have always believed that the story of the show can have an impact on people’s lives. The order not only protected us, but it also boosted the morale of everyone involved in the show.

The makers also said that the court order gives us confidence that ‘our creativity will be respected and protected.
