Hathras stampede, President Draupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other leaders have expressed their condolences on the accident that took place during the satsang in Hathras, Uttar Pradesh. The President said in his condolence message that the news of the death of many devotees including women and children in the accident in Hathras district is heart-wrenching. At the same time, PM Modi was responding to the discussion on the President’s address in the Lok Sabha. During this time, information about the Hathras incident was conveyed to him. In the middle of his address, the PM expressed condolences while mentioning the Hathras incident.

All possible help to the victims: PM

He said that ‘Information has come to light about the death of many people in Hathras, UP. I express my condolences to them. I wish for the recovery of all the injured. The administration is engaged in rescue work on the spot. Through this House, I assure all possible help to all the victims. The UP government has announced a compensation of two lakh rupees to the families of the deceased and 50 thousand rupees to the injured.

Shah-Rajnath Singh expressed condolences

In his condolence message, Home Minister Amit Shah said that he is deeply saddened by the tragic accident in Hadras. I express my condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in this accident. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has also expressed condolences.

The death toll may increase

The death toll in this stampede may increase. According to official information, a total of 27 people, including 23 women and 3 children, have lost their lives in this accident. Apart from this, it is also said that more than 100 people are injured. However, Hathras District Magistrate (DM) Ashish Kumar says that he has received news of the death of 50-60 people.

Investigation into the incident begins

Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh minister Laxmi Narayan says that the state government is standing with the victim families. He said, every possible help is being provided to the victims. Along with proper treatment of the injured, investigation is being done regarding the incident and action will be taken against whoever is found guilty. An eyewitness of the accident that happened during the satsang said that the accident happened due to the negligence of the police administration. He said that the police administration had put up barricades on a road. The police opened it, which was closed at night. When vehicles started coming there, people ran here and there to save themselves. This caused a stampede and people died.
