A truck going from Uttar Pradesh to Punjab fell into a big ditch due to the collapse of the highway near Golanpur village in Yamunanagar, Haryana. Fortunately, no one was injured in this accident. This accident, which happened after heavy rains, has exposed the quality of the highway.
Highway officials say that a large portion of the highway collapsed due to soil sliding from beneath the road. After the accident, traffic was diverted. Fortunately, no Kanwariya or Shiv Bhakt’s vehicle was damaged due to this accident during the Kanwar Yatra.

Ash is being used in place of soil
Farmer leader Mandeep Road Chhappar has said that corruption in highway construction is the reason behind this accident. He said that during highway construction, ash is being used instead of soil, due to which the roads are getting weak and accidents are happening.
Demand for investigation of highway quality
The farmer leader specifically mentioned the Yamunanagar-Ponta Sahib highway and said that ash is being used in construction there too. He demanded a thorough investigation into this matter and appropriate action.
Use of scrap and inferior steel bars in highway construction
Pawan Kumar, a resident of village Tehi, raised questions on the quality of highway construction work and showed iron rods taken out from the highway. He alleged that poor quality scrap and iron rods are being used in highway construction, which is causing such incidents.
