Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi will address two rallies in Ramban and Anantnag districts on Wednesday. This will be the start of the Congress campaign for the Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections being held after 10 years. These rallies are part of the campaign for the party candidates contesting in the first phase of elections to be held on September 18.

Rahul Gandhi will campaign for two top leaders of Jammu and Kashmir Congress – Ghulam Ahmed Mir, Vikar Rasool Wani and former Jammu and Kashmir Congress chief Peerzada Mohammad Syed – who are contesting in the first phase of elections. Apart from Rahul Gandhi, Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra are among the 40 star campaigners of the party in the three-phase assembly elections.

There is an alliance between Congress and National Conference

Voting for the election of 90 members of the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly will be held on September 18, 25 and October 1. Congress and National Conference have already formed an alliance for the assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir, which are being held for the first time after the abrogation of Article 370 of the Constitution in August 2019.

JKPCC chief Tariq Hamid Karra said that Rahul ji will start the party’s campaign from Wednesday. He will address two rallies in Ramban and Anantnag districts on Wednesday in support of Congress candidates.
