‘Hang me’, Kolkata rape case accused pleaded to police during interrogation

The accused who brutally raped a trainee doctor in Kolkata’s medical college is now pleading to be hanged. He has confessed his crime and said during interrogation, “Yes, I have committed a crime, hang me.” Police investigation revealed that the accused Sanjay Roy had a habit of assault for a long time. During interrogation, he also confessed to attacking his mother, sister and wife.

Kolkata Police has seized two mobile phones of both the victim and the accused and is in the process of extracting data from the accused’s phone. CCTV footage from RG Kar Hospital has been collected for investigation. The officials have questioned not only the hospital staff including doctors but also the five policemen deployed there to gather any necessary information regarding the crime.

DNA sample sent for forensic investigation

Amid growing speculation and rumours on social media about the case, the police have identified 15 people related to the case. The police will question everyone in connection with the crime. The Kolkata Police is currently conducting a forensic investigation in the case. DNA samples have also been collected for medical examination. These samples have been sent to the forensic lab for investigation.

Police is investigating the CCTV footage

In their ongoing investigation, the police are examining CCTV footage from the hospital, particularly Roy’s movements over the last 30 days. The police are probing who was behind the incident during this time.

A case of brutality against a trainee doctor was reported in RG Kar Medical College, Kolkata, West Bengal. In this case, the police arrested the accused Sanjay Roy. It is also being said that the accused first killed the trainee doctor and then raped her.
