Haier 1.6 Ton Heavy Duty Split AC Review: This year the heat has broken decades of records. The demand for ACs across the country has increased much more than before. There are many types of air conditioners available in the market. In such a situation, people are confused about which AC will be better for them.
Now ACs have also become smart and I have reviewed one such Haier Heavy Duty AC. The specialty of heavy duty ACs is that they cool faster than normal air conditioners. If a normal AC cools a room in 15 minutes, then if you have a Heavy Duty AC, it will cool the entire room in less than half the time.
The Haier AC that I have reviewed is a 1.6 Ton inverter AC and is 5 star rated.
First of all, let’s talk about the installation. The installation is done by the company itself. The technician did a great job and installed the AC in the house in a very neat manner. Installing a Split AC is more difficult than a Window AC, but the technician sent by the company took out all the ducts and installed it very neatly.
This AC has many features which are quite useful. It has frost self cleaning tech and also has triple inverter. The company claims that it saves up to 65% energy. After running the AC for a month, the bill is actually Rs 2000 less than what it used to be earlier. That means it meets the standards of energy saving.
The air throw of the AC is perfect and cools a mid-size room completely in a few minutes. The air throw is two-way which you can control with the remote or app. Due to the air throw of 20 meters, it proves to be better even for large rooms. This ensures that cool air reaches every corner of the room and the room cools down quickly.
Talking about the Frost Self Clean Tech, it is interesting. You can use this feature through the app or remote. As soon as you turn on the feature, a frost is formed in the evaporator of the AC which traps all the dust present in the coil and as soon as the frost melts, all the dust is washed out through the duct. That is, it cleans itself automatically. However, you will have to remove and clean the external filter yourself from time to time.
The app will tell you when to clean the filter and you will get complete instructions in the app itself on how you can clean the filter.

There are many controls in the remote, including a health mode. There is an LED on the AC which you can also turn off through the remote. You can control this air conditioner from anywhere through the app. Initially, you have to connect it to your WIFI, the process is quite easy and for this you can download the Haismart app from the App Store or Play Store.
The app interface is very simple and here you get the option of timer, sleep curve, filter and detecting. Using the timer, you can auto set the AC as to when it will turn off and when it will turn on. There is another such interesting feature called Sleep Curve.
Sleep Curve is actually meant to control the temperature while you are sleeping so that electricity is saved and your body gets the amount of coolness it needs.
There are some pre-set curves in it which include default, men, women, elderly and children. As the night progresses, the temperature normally decreases and on this basis your AC will also keep setting the temperature automatically i.e. it will keep increasing it. This curve is of 8 hours and you can set any temperature you want in different hours.
For example, if you are sleeping with the AC on 24 hours, then slowly every two hours it will automatically increase the temperature by 1 point and after a time it will maintain the same temperature so that you do not feel hot.
You can customize this curve yourself. You can select and set the temperature according to the timing. Your AC will work throughout the night according to whatever curve you select. You can also change the mode from the app itself. Modes include cool, fan and dry.
You can also select the wind speed from the app itself. Here you get the option of high, end, low and auto, from which you can select one.
There is a filter option in the app itself, on selecting which, the app will tell you whether you need to clean the filter or not. Here you will find the complete steps on how you can clean the filter. Remember, it is important that you keep cleaning the filter of any AC from time to time so that the AC works properly and does not overheat.
On selecting the Detecting feature, this AC goes into self-detection mode. Here it scans and tells you if there is any problem with the AC. Another good thing about this AC is that even in humid weather, it cools the entire room in a few minutes.
Haier 1.6 Ton Heavy Duty Split AC: Bottom Line
The price of this AC is around 45 thousand rupees, although you can buy it at a lower price in the offer. Considering the price, this Haier AC has many things that make it the best in the segment. However, the best AC is also judged by how long it lasts. Since I have used this AC for only two months, this review is based on this. After a few months, in the long term review, I will be in a position to tell how reliable this AC is and what problems occur in it in the long term. Overall, on the use so far, this AC works great and also lives up to the company’s claims.
