Gujarat gets some relief from ‘water deluge’, Meteorological Department issues this alert for next 5 days

Heavy rains and floods have caused a lot of devastation in Gujarat. But now the people of Gujarat are going to get some relief. According to the Meteorological Department, there is no possibility of rain in Gujarat for the next five days. According to IMD, there is no red alert for heavy rain anywhere in Gujarat for the next five days. Along with this, the threat of Asna cyclone in the coastal areas of Kutch has also been averted. The cyclone has moved towards Oman.

Yellow alert issued for many places
The Meteorological Department has today issued a yellow alert for rain in Kutch, Jamnagar, Dwarka, Porbandar, Navsari, Valsad, Daman and Dadra Nagar Haveli in Gujarat. According to IMD, there is no orange or red alert for rain anywhere in the state. Tomorrow, i.e. on September 1, a yellow alert for rain has been issued in Navsari, Valsad, Daman and Dadra Nagar Haveli in Gujarat. On September 2, an orange alert has been issued in Vadodara and Chhotaudepur in Gujarat and a yellow alert for rain has been issued in Bhavnagar, Anand, Panchmahal, Dahod, Bharuch and Narmada.

The people of Gujarat breathed a sigh of relief
Storm Asna, which formed in the Arabian Sea off the coast of Gujarat, has now turned towards Oman. Due to which there is a possibility of heavy rain in the coastal areas. In view of this, the Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for many places. It is likely to cross the northern Andhra Pradesh and adjoining south Odisha coasts between Visakhapatnam and Gopalpur near Kalingapatnam around midnight of 31 August 2024.

Rain took a break in Gujarat
After continuous heavy rains for several days, the rains have now stopped in Gujarat. During the last 24 hours, the average rainfall of the entire state was recorded to be only 1.36 mm. According to the data of the State Emergency Operation Center, Gandhinagar, in the last 24 hours in Gujarat, Mundra taluka of Kutch received the highest rainfall of 1 inch, while less than 1 inch rainfall was recorded in a total of 68 talukas of the state. No rain has been recorded in any taluka of the state between 6 am and 10 am today. This year in the season, more than 111% of the total average rainfall of the state has been recorded so far.

Storage in 206 reservoirs of Gujarat is 432507 mcft, which is 77.21 percent of the storage capacity, out of which 108 reservoirs are 100 percent full, 44 reservoirs are more than 70 to 100 percent, 20 reservoirs are 50 to 70 percent, 22 reservoirs are 25 to 50 percent and 12 reservoirs are less than 25 percent full.
