Greta Thunberg arrested at pro-Palestinian protest

Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg was arrested Wednesday morning during a pro-Palestine demonstration in Copenhagen.

“Business versus students and I are in the administration building of the University of Copenhagen,” Thunberg wrote Wednesday morning. On a video shared on his Instagram.

“The police are called, violently enter the building with rams armed with assault rifles. They are evicting everyone as we speak,” she wrote.

“Students have been arrested and are being taken to the station right now,” Thunberg added in another video.

Campus protests in support of the Palestinians have flared up around the world in the 11 months since a violent offensive against Israel by the terror group Hamas, which launched a deadly, ongoing operation by the Israel Defense Forces in Gaza and the West Bank.

Copenhagen police said about 20 demonstrators gathered at the university and six of them were arrested. Danish media Ekstra Bladet reported.

Danish outlet TV2 published a video clip Thunberg was detained and put in the back of a police van. Police have not confirmed the identity of anyone arrested, but a spokesperson for Students Against the Occupation said Reuters Thunberg was held by law enforcement.
