Greater Noida: Noise pollution due to ringing of temple bell! Pollution Control Board sent notice to society members, gave clarification when uproar ensued

The Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board (UPPCB) sent a notice to a famous society in Greater Noida West for ringing the bell loudly inside the temple. After receiving the notice, the residents of the society and the AOA (Apartment Owners Association) protested against it, after which late at night the UPPCB suddenly changed its decision and withdrew the notice. However, various reactions are coming on social media regarding this matter.

Actually, there is a temple in the common area of ​​Gaur Saundaryam Society of Greater Noida West. Where the residents of the society worship in the temple every morning and evening. During this time, some residents of the society had complained to UPPCB i.e. Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board about the loud ringing of the bell during worship in the temple.

After the complaint, UPPCB officials reached the spot and investigated, in which the sound of the temple bell was found to be 72 decibels. After which UPPCB officials issued a notice to the AOA of Gaur Saundaryam. It was said to reduce the sound of the bell to less than 55 decibels. Regarding this, the AOA of Gaur Saundaryam Society issued a circulation on the society’s WhatsApp group to people to ring the bell softly during worship.

After the notice of UPPCB, the people of the society came out in protest against it. With this, the notice started circulating rapidly on social media. On which people started giving different reactions. Seeing the matter getting escalated, UPPCB changed its decision late at night and withdrew the notice.

Giving information on this matter, UPPCB Greater Noida official Dev Gupta said that a resident of Gaur Saundaryam Society had given a complaint letter that he is disturbed due to the loud sound of the temple bell of the society. After which, investigation found that the sound coming from the bell is more than the standard. Regarding which a letter was issued to the RWA of the society but it was seen that some public sentiments are also getting hurt. Respecting public sentiments, this letter or notice has been withdrawn.
