Goods train laden with coal derailed in Gaya, Bihar, 8 coaches derailed, major accident averted

There was a stir in Bihar’s Gaya on Sunday when 8 coaches of a goods train derailed. However, luckily there is no news of any loss of life or property in this accident. According to the information, this incident happened near Rasulpur in Gaya. According to officials, ‘This incident happened at around 4.45 pm when a goods train loaded with coal derailed.’ Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) of East Central Railway Saraswati Chandra said that after this incident many officials reached there and took stock of the situation.

Railway officials said that the matter is being investigated. Normal train movement was not affected after the incident. An inquiry has been ordered.

Let us tell you that before this a big railway accident was averted in Katihar, Bihar. When 5 tankers loaded with petrol derailed on the cross over. This accident happened near Khuriyal and Kumedpur bypass. This accident happened in Katihar Railway Division. Railway operations were disrupted due to this accident.

According to the information given by the Railways through RTI, from 7 July 2021 to 17 June 2024, 131 train accidents have occurred in the country, out of which 92 are train derailment incidents. These accidents include 64 passenger trains and 28 freight trains, in the last three years, 2 passenger trains and 1 freight train have derailed every month.

This time around Rs 1100 crore has been allocated for Rail Kavach in Indian Railways. It is claimed that more than Rs 45 thousand crore is required for Rail Kavach on all routes. According to this, the opposition says that it will take several decades to install a system to protect trains from collision on every route. So will the lives of the public be considered cheap till then?
