Gold medalist was out of Olympics due to being 50 grams overweight, now gave this advice to Vinesh

India’s star wrestler Vinesh Phogat suffered a major setback in the Paris Olympics. Just a few hours before the final of the 50 kg wrestling category, she was disqualified due to being just 100 grams overweight. Vinesh is getting support from all over the world. In this sequence, Japan Olympic champion Rei Higuchi has also supported Vinesh and said that she can understand her pain, because she too was eliminated from the qualifiers due to being just 50 grams overweight.

In fact, Higuchi, a gold medallist in the men’s 57kg freestyle event, was knocked out of the Tokyo Olympics qualifiers three years ago for being just 50 grams overweight. He eventually lost a playoff bout as well and could not compete in his home Olympics despite being highly ranked at the time.

I understand your pain better than anyone else.
The same 50 grams.
Don’t worry about the sounds around you.
Life goes on.
The most beautiful thing is to recover from failures.
Rest well.

‘I understand your pain very well’

At the Paris Olympics, Higuchi won the gold medal by defeating India’s Aman Sehrawat in the semi-finals of the 57 kg freestyle category. Earlier, he had won the silver medal in the 2016 Rio Olympics. Supporting Vinesh Phogat, he has said that recovering from failures is the most beautiful thing. Commenting on Vinesh’s retirement announcement from wrestling, he wrote on X, “I understand your pain best. The same 50 grams. Don’t worry about the sounds around you. Life goes on. Recovering from failures is the most beautiful thing. Rest well,”
