Ghulam Nabi Azad refuses to ‘return home’ to Congress, MP Rashid’s brother preparing to contest elections… Political temperature rises in Jammu and Kashmir

After the announcement of the election dates, political activities have intensified in Jammu and Kashmir. All the parties are now making strategies. There is a lot of rhetoric too. Meanwhile, news of Ghulam Nabi Azad returning to Congress had also surfaced. However, his party has called it baseless.

In a statement issued by the Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) on Sunday, it was said that the news of Ghulam Nabi Azad’s return to the Congress is completely baseless and such rumours are being spread by the leaders of Jammu and Kashmir Congress.

According to the information, BJP will start its campaign from next week. According to sources, many big leaders including PM Modi, Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh and BJP President JP Nadda can hold rallies in Jammu and Kashmir. It is being told that BJP is preparing to fight the Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections alone. The party can coordinate with independents and small parties in the Kashmir Valley

According to the information, Engineer Rashid’s younger brother Khurshid Ahmed Sheikh may contest from Langate seat of Handwara in North Kashmir. It is being said that in the coming days, Khurshid Ahmed may take voluntary retirement from the Education Department. AIP gained prominence in Jammu and Kashmir politics when its patron Engineer Rashid defeated former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah by more than one lakh votes in Baramulla seat. Let us tell you that Rashid has been imprisoned in Delhi’s Tihar Jail since 2019, when he was arrested by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in an alleged terrorism financing and money laundering case.

Rajouri Poonch’s strong leader and former minister and MLA Zulfiqar Chaudhary joined BJP along with his supporters on Sunday. Zulfiqar Chaudhary has also been a minister from PDP quota in the BJP government. On his decision, he said, ‘BJP’s policies and schemes have reached the last person standing in the queue. These things forced me to join BJP. Peace has been restored in Jammu and Kashmir, stone pelting has ended, the common man feels more secure.’
