Gave triple talaq to wife over phone to marry a Pakistani woman, got arrested after returning from Kuwait

A 35-year-old man from Rajasthan was detained by the police at Jaipur airport on charges of giving triple talaq to his wife over the phone from Kuwait. During investigation, it was found that the accused wanted to marry a Pakistani woman with whom he had previously worked in Kuwait.

Hanumangarh Deputy Superintendent of Police (SC/ST Cell) Ranveer Singh, while giving information about this, told PTI that the name of the accused is Rehman. He met Pakistani woman Mehwish on social media. Then both of them became friends and Rehman, despite being married, married Mehwish in Saudi Arabia.

According to DSP Ranveer Singh, Mehvish came to Churu in Rajasthan last month on a tourist visa and is currently staying with Rehman’s parents at their home.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (SC/ST Cell) Ranveer Singh said that Farida Bano (29), a resident of Bhadra in Hanumangarh, had lodged a case against her husband Rehman last month, accusing him of dowry harassment and divorce through triple talaq. When the accused Rehman landed at Jaipur airport from Kuwait on Monday, a police team from Hanumangarh detained him and took him to the police station.

The DSP said that after preliminary interrogation, he was arrested the next day. He said that Rehman and Farida Bano were married in the year 2011 and now they are also parents of a son and a daughter.

Rehman had gone to Kuwait to earn a livelihood and was working in the transport sector there. DSP Singh said that after Mehvish came to Churu, Farida Bano, who is living with her parents in Hanumangarh, has filed a case against Rehman.
