Praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi and CM Yogi for the development of Ram’s city Ayodhya proved costly for a woman. The woman’s husband gave her triple talaq and also tried to kill her, after which the police have registered a case against the accused and seven members of his family.
According to the news agency report, a woman named Maryam has alleged in her complaint to the police in Bahraich, UP that before this, she was also beaten up and hot lentils were thrown on her.
According to the report, on the day the husband gave triple talaq to Maryam, the husband’s family living in Ayodhya also tried to strangle her. The victim said, ‘I am a resident of Mohalla Sarai of Police Station Jarwal Road in Bahraich.
Triple talaq given for praising Modi-Yogi
She said, “On 13 December 2023, I was married to Arshad, a resident of Delhi Darwaza Mohalla in Ayodhya. My marriage was arranged with the consent of both the parties and by spending more than my means,” the victim woman further said in the video that now she is being harassed for praising the PM and CM.
The victim said, ‘After marriage, when I went out in the city, I liked the roads, beautification, development and atmosphere of Ayodhya Dham very much. On this, I praised Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in front of my husband.
According to the woman, her husband Arshad got angry and sent her to her maternal home in Bahraich. Jarwal Road Police Station Officer-in-Charge (SHO) Brijraj Prasad said that after some time, after the intervention of relatives, she returned to Ayodhya to live with her husband.
Attempted strangulation: Victim
The woman said that after returning, Arshad abused the Chief Minister and the Prime Minister and gave her triple talaq by saying “talaq, talaq, talaq”. Maryam alleged that her mother-in-law, younger sister-in-law and brothers-in-law tried to strangle her. They also beat her up on the day her husband pronounced triple talaq to her.
Case filed against the whole family
Based on her complaint, a case has been registered against eight people including the woman’s husband Arshad, mother-in-law Raisha, father-in-law Islam, sister-in-law Kulsum, brother-in-law Faran and Shafaq, sister-in-law Simran. Police said that a case has been registered under assault, abuse, threat and Dowry Prohibition Act and Muslim Women (Protection of Women’s Rights in Marriage) Act.
