All party meeting before Parliament session

monsoon session of parliament, There are chances of uproar on many issues in the monsoon session of Parliament starting today. The general budget is also to be presented in this session. The opposition parties have many issues which they are going to raise strongly in the Parliament. This was also seen in the all-party meeting held on Sunday. From the order to write names on the dhabas of UP, to the terrorist attacks in Jammu, train accidents, the situation in Manipur and the post of deputy speaker, a picture of uproar is emerging. In such a situation, despite the government’s appeal for cooperation, there are chances of a fight in the Parliament like the last session. Encouraged by the better results in the Lok Sabha elections, the opposition is now strongly attacking the Modi government and is completely united this time compared to before. Rahul Gandhi has been given the responsibility of the Leader of the Opposition and leaders like SP chief Akhilesh Yadav will also be present in the House to support him.

Congress raised the demand for discussion on these issues

The Congress on Sunday insisted at an all-party meeting that issues like the NEET case, Uttar Pradesh government’s order to canteens and internal security situation in Jammu and Manipur should be discussed during the Budget Session of Parliament. Congress general secretary (in-charge of communication) Jairam Ramesh said that at an all-party meeting of leaders of the House chaired by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Congress Deputy Leader in Lok Sabha Gaurav Gogoi raised several issues on behalf of the party which should be raised in the Parliament session starting Monday. Ramesh said Gogoi called for a discussion on governance issues related to NEET, NET case, UPSC controversy, decline in railway security and Agniveer. He said the party also stressed that the internal security situation in Jammu and Manipur should be discussed during the session.

From China’s challenge to UP Kanwar Yatra issue raised

According to Ramesh, Gogoi also said in the meeting that challenges on the border with China and environmental concerns arising out of floods and natural disasters, deforestation and pollution should be discussed during the session. The Congress also raised issues related to Centre-state relations and the economy, saying these should be debated. Ramesh, who attended the meeting, said in a post on X that citing the controversial directive of the Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand governments to make dhabas located on the Kanwar Yatra route display the names of the owners, the party also raised the issue of deliberate attempts to polarise in states like Uttar Pradesh by passing unconstitutional orders.

JDU demanded special state status for Bihar

Earlier, as the meeting began, Ramesh posted on Twitter that the Janata Dal (United) leader demanded special category status for Bihar at the all-party meeting. “Yuvajana Sramika Raithu Congress Party (YSRCP) leader demanded special status for Andhra Pradesh. Strange that the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader remained silent on the issue,” Ramesh said in the post. “How the political atmosphere has changed!” he said. At the all-party meeting of the leaders of the House, the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) leader reminded Defence Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party president JP Nadda that the BJP’s manifesto for the 2014 assembly elections in Odisha had promised special category status to the state.

India Alliance demanded the post of Deputy Speaker

“At the all-party meeting of the leaders of the House chaired by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, there was a universal demand for the formation of 24 department-related standing committees and giving them due importance. There was also a universal demand for reintroducing consultative committees where MPs can interact with the concerned ministers,” Ramesh said in another post on X. Later, Congress leader K Suresh told reporters that his party joined other members of the ‘India’ alliance in demanding the post of Deputy Speaker of Lok Sabha as per tradition.
