Independence Day, Now less than a month is left for Independence Day, so Delhi Police (Delhi Police) has made preparations to deploy snipers, their assistant spotters and FR (facial recognition) CCTV cameras. A police officer said on Thursday that an app will also be used to verify people during the event at the Red Fort.

He said that the attack on former US President Donald Trump has made the role of ‘Nishnabaaz’ (sniper) important this Independence Day. Sources said that they have planned to increase the number of shooters with Dragunov SVD rifles. These rifles were hired for the security of foreign dignitaries during the G20 Summit. He said that the practical accuracy of the rifles is more than 800 meters.

Snipers will be deployed

Shooters who have received training to use these Russian-made rifles will be deployed at the Red Fort during the G-20 summit. An official said that they will be deployed at strategic locations during the event.

The plan for arrangements for the Independence Day celebrations at the Red Fort includes ‘spotters’ (shooters’ aides), facial recognition systems (FRS), CCTV cameras (CCTV Camera) and use of drones is already included.

Number of FRS cameras increased

The official said cameras equipped with FRS have been in use in Delhi for four-five years and this year their number will be increased to over 1,000. Police said a new security measure in the form of an app has also been added this year, which will be used to verify people, including residents around the venue.

E-examination app created for verification

Deputy Commissioner of Police (North) M.K. Meena told news agency Bhasha that security arrangements are being planned at the Red Fort. He said that all necessary measures will be taken to ensure the safety of visitors. Meena said that this app named ‘e-Pariksha’ has been developed for verification of people, workers and shopkeepers around the event venue.

More than 10,000 security personnel will be deployed

The official said that this app is being used for the first time during Independence Day and if everything goes well, it can be used across the city for verification. The police have planned to deploy more than 10,000 security personnel, including paramilitary personnel, at the Red Fort and other important places in central and north Delhi.
