Free Electricity Scheme: New update on PM Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme, youth will be delighted to hear it!

A new update has come out regarding the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana launched by the central government. However, this update is for the youth of Uttar Pradesh. The Uttar Pradesh government is planning to train 30,000 youth as “Surya Mitra” to achieve its goal of installing solar panels on the roof of every house in the state.

According to PTI, a senior official of Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA) said that to achieve the target of installing solar energy panels in every house in Uttar Pradesh, there will be a great need for skilled workers in the solar energy sector. The official said that for this, the state agency has set a target of training 30 thousand Surya Mitras in district centers and industrial training institutes.

What is PM Surya Ghar Yojana?
In February last year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the PM Surya Ghar Yojana (PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana), under which it was said to provide free electricity up to 300 units. Under this scheme, a target has been set to install solar rooftops in 1 crore families. The government is also giving subsidy for installing solar rooftops. This scheme helps in saving money on electricity bills. The target of this scheme is to provide free electricity up to 300 units to 1 crore families.

How much subsidy will be available?
Under the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, 40 percent of the extra system cost is subsidized for systems with a capacity of 2 to 3 kW, while 60 percent of the cost of the solar unit is covered for systems up to 2 kW. Under this scheme, a 1 kW system will get a subsidy of Rs 30,000, a 2 kW system will get Rs 60,000 and a system of 3 kW or more will get Rs 78,000.

More applications were received from these states
Under the PM Surya Ghar Yojana, applications are coming from almost all the states, but more applications have been received from some states. These include Assam, Bihar, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Odisha, Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh.

Bank is giving loan
If you do not have money to avail the Suryaghar Free Electricity Scheme, then there is no need to worry, because the country’s largest bank, State Bank of India (SBI) is giving loans for this scheme. The bank is giving loans up to Rs 2 lakh for 3 kW at an interest rate of 7 percent.
