Details of the Recall
The recall affects reusable water bottles produced by the Vilac company, which were found to contain elevated levels of Bisphenol A (BPA), a chemical recognized as an endocrine disruptor. According to Rappel Conso, France’s consumer recall agency, the levels of BPA in these bottles exceed the regulatory limits set for products intended for food contact. The affected bottles feature the Olympic rings and designs associated with the Paris 2024 mascot and the Olympic flame, and were sold in France from late August 2023 until early June 2024.
