The accused who raped and murdered a trainee lady doctor at Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College and Hospital was addicted to alcohol and porn. Investigation has revealed that the accused had married four times. However, due to his dirty behavior, three wives had left him, while the fourth wife died of cancer last year.
On the morning of 9 August, the body of the trainee doctor was found in the seminar hall of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. When the police took the accused Sanjay Roy into custody and questioned him, he confessed to rape and murder. The police have registered a case against Sanjay Roy under Section 64 (rape) and 103 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code. The accused Sanjay Roy is currently in 14-day police custody.
Countrywide strike of resident doctors from today
In protest against this incident, the resident doctors’ organization Federation of All India Resident Doctors Association (FRODA) is on a nationwide strike from today. During this time, work will remain closed in OPD, elective surgery and lab. Work is also closed in RG Kar Medical College. At the same time, doctors say that the police have arrested only one accused, while many others may also be involved in this heinous crime. They claim that behind the arrest of accused Sanjay Roy, an attempt is being made to deliberately hide some big thing. At the same time, the Indian Medical Association (IMA) has also given an ultimatum to complete the investigation and take action within 48 hours, otherwise it has warned of a nationwide strike.

Police sources say that the accused Sanjay Roy was addicted to watching porn movies while drinking alcohol. Not only this, the accused also had unhindered entry into the hospital. He went to the back of the hospital to drink alcohol at 11 pm on Friday night. He watched porn movies while drinking alcohol there. After this, at 4 am, he was seen entering the Chest Medicine Department from the back door. After this, at around 4.45 am, he was seen coming out of the seminar hall.

After going back home, he also washed his clothes, which he had worn while committing the crime. But the police have recovered his shoes, in which blood stains can be clearly seen. When the police went to arrest him, he was completely drunk. The accused has a perverted mentality, his mobile is full of porn videos.

A police officer said that there is a possibility that the accused first killed the woman doctor and then raped her. The doctor was sleeping alone in the seminar hall of the hospital. She resisted, but was strangled to death. The post-mortem report said, “The victim was bleeding from both eyes and mouth. There were injuries on her face. There was also bleeding from her private parts. There were also injuries on her stomach, left leg, neck, right hand, finger and lips.”
How was the accused caught?
On receiving information about this incident on Saturday morning, the police reached the spot. During the initial investigation, the police found a Bluetooth earbud from the spot, through which they were able to reach the accused. Actually, the police tried to connect that Bluetooth to the phone of many people, but that Bluetooth connected only to the accused’s phone. After this, the accused Sanjay Roy was arrested. The accused is a civic volunteer. Such volunteers are contractual employees who assist the police personnel in traffic and unauthorized parking management. Their job is temporary.
