According to multiple reports, an assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump occurred during a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania on July 13, 2024. Ronny Jackson, Trump’s former White House physician, stated that his nephew was present at the rally and was injured in the shooting .
Jackson told Fox News and Newsmax that his nephew’s neck was “grazed by a bullet” and that he was “bleeding” after the incident . The congressman, who was not at the event himself, said his nephew was seated in a “friends and family” section behind Trump when the shots were fired.
The shooting resulted in one spectator being killed and two others critically injured . The suspected shooter, identified as 20-year-old Fromel Park of Pennsylvania, was killed by Secret Service agents at the scene.
Former President Trump was rushed off the stage and later confirmed on social media that he had been shot, stating he felt a “bullet ripping through the skin” of his right ear . Trump was taken to the hospital but has since been released and is reported to be in stable condition .
The incident is being investigated as an assassination attempt, with the Department of Homeland Security, FBI, and Department of Justice all involved in the probe . Authorities have not yet determined a motive for the attack.
