The student has urged the Supreme Court to direct the concerned authorities to find a solution to the problem of waterlogging in areas like Old Rajendra Nagar and Mukherjee Nagar.

Dubey said that students in areas like Rajendra Nagar and Mukherjee Nagar are forced to live a hellish life. Due to clogged drains, rainwater enters the houses. We have to walk in knee-deep water. The Delhi government and MCD are forcing us to live like insects. It is our fundamental right to study while living a healthy life. But unfortunately, the Delhi government and MCD are not paying any attention to this.

Let us tell you that last Saturday, the basement of Rau’s IAS Study Circle Institute in Old Rajendra Nagar was flooded with water. Three students died due to drowning in this water. They were identified as Shreya Yadavas from Uttar Pradesh, Tanya Soni from Telangana and Navin Dalvin from Kerala.

How did the accident happen?

There is no official statement on this yet. Initial investigation has revealed that there was heavy rain on Saturday, due to which the road was flooded. Due to the lack of drainage system, this water filled the basement of the coaching center.

Several videos of this incident are going viral on social media, in which many students are seen trying to save themselves from drowning. In one video, the main entry gate of the coaching center is seen falling due to heavy rain, due to which the basement got flooded.

It is being told that there was only one way to enter and exit the basement. Some students have alleged that the biometric system of entry-exit had malfunctioned, due to which the students were stuck here.
